Training is important to ensure competent and safe operation of equipment.
Training provides:
- opportunity for new or better employment.
- information required to qualify for ministry certification and licensing
- a stepping stone to a higher level of licensing.
- demonstration and information concerning safe working and operating practices on construction and industrial sites.
- proof of “due diligence” for the employer as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and Bill C-45
- employees who are “competent workers” as defined by the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and
- Bill C-45
Training reduces:
- worker risk and injury.
- work-related fatalities.
- employer costs related to worker injury and absenteeism.
