Prerequisites:
- must be at least 16 years of age
- operating experience on Tower Cranes
- have 4000 hours experience on Tower Cranes
Who is this course for?
Individuals who:
- are or want to be employed in this trade.
- want to update their skills.
- want to obtain a license from Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities (339B).
Employers who:
- require employees to be competent operators (”competent workers” as defined by OHSA).
- require employees to meet the requirements of the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities for Licence 339B.
- must meet the OHSA requirements to prove ”due diligence”.
Course Information:
Safety standards dictate that operators of any tower crane must be competent and must be licensed by the Ministry of Training, Colleges & Universities (339B) to operate this type of equipment on construction sites.
This program provides an overview through theoretical instruction and testing in safe operating practices. Topics covered include terminology for tower cranes, pre-operational inspections, operational limits, load chart interpretation, load calculations, review of the current applicable regulations, hand signals, basic rigging principles and other relevant topics sufficient to challenge the D.O.S.T. Ministry exam.
Upon successful completion of the course, you receive information regarding requirements for challenging D.O.S.T.
