Prerequisites:  

  • must be at least 16 years of age

Who is this course for?

Individuals who:

  • are working with hoisting devices.
  • want to learn basic rigging techniques.
  • want to increase knowledge of basic rigging techniques.

Employers who:

  • require employees to be competent workers (”competent workers” as defined by OHSA).

Course Information:      

This program provides information about the basic principles of rigging. Topics include terminology, sling angles & configuration, sling inspection, use of shackles and hooks, determining the weight of loads, maintenance, review of the current applicable regulations and other relevant topics.

  • Lecture, Demonstration, and Discussion
  • Hands-on demonstration and practical testing.
