Who is this course for?

Individuals who:

  • want to participate.
  • work in construction sites where they may be exposed to fall hazards.
  • require Fall Protection training to meet OHSA requirements and CSA Standards.

Employers who:

  • require Fall Protection training to meet OHSA requirements and CSA Standards.

Course Information:      

In Ontario, the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) Regulation for Construction (O. Reg. 213/91) was amended to include the requirements for Fall Protection Training. This amended regulation came into effect on June 12, 2002.

This generic program offers theoretical instruction and testing in the basic concepts of Fall Protection systems. The purpose is to provide the basic knowledge for construction personnel to work safely in areas exposed to fall hazards.

Upon completion of this course, the participants will be able to:

  • recognize fall hazards
  • identify fall protection
  • apply fall protection controls including fall prevention and fall arrest

  • Lecture, Demonstration, and Discussion
  • Written testing.
